As a journalist specializing in health and alternative medicine since 1966, I have stumbled across numerous stories of significant value, and this may be one of the more important features I’ve encountered.

In your December 1999 issue, I was especially appreciative of the remarks about quantum medicine by Dr. Paul Yanick. Allow me to explain, and perhaps many of the physician-readers will have another new and exciting avenue open up for their thinking. The IAQM might be especially interested in this.

Cell communications, like cellular energy production, is one of the very keys to life itself. Dr. Yanick’s comments about the probable quantum aspects of cell communications piqued my interest the most because the device I am going to explain is believed to enhance cell communications considerably.

Back in 1975, I encountered a unique individual who quickly became a subject of my journalism involving inventive, innovative, ingenious, entrepreneurs well outside the mainstream. John Ledbetter is the president of Nyvatex Health-Mat Corporation, Billings, Montana. When I met him his premier interest was finding oil deep in the overthrust belt with a “direct” finding tool of his invention. He laid claim to being the first man ever to use “chaos theory” or “non-linear dynamics” in a practical application.

In recent years he has demonstrated the efficacy of his oil-finding tool beyond a doubt with more than 30 wells in a row and nary a dry hole in the lot. However, the world is awash in oil and his invention has not stirred the board rooms of Big Oil at all.

This brings us to the second practical application for his non-linear discoveries: quantum fields and human health.

When I met John, he had produced a small rectangular plastic-coated foil “Nyvatex Health-Mat” that he claimed concentrated “electric fields” but not electromagnetic fields. He has since discovered that the term “quantum fields” may be a more apt moniker for the simple device.

For my first story about Ledbetter’s work, I traveled with him to Butte, Montana which was close to one of his discovery wells. Living in that small city was the Ward family; a group of powerful civic leaders and well known merchants, miners and prospectors. I met almost all the Wards, including the patriarch and several brothers. I was astonished by the testimonials thy gave regarding their experiences with Ledbetter’s “Nyvatex Health-Mat” and I dutifully checked them out and wrote about them.

Since that time, the list of “testimonials” concerning the efficacy of the Nyvatex Health-Mat in returning very sick people to health has grown exponentially. Ledbetter has written and published a book about his discovery: The Theory & Physics of Alternative Medicine.

At this time, sales of the Nyvatex Health-Mat are improving primarily due to word of mouth. It is time members of the medical community were informed.

The Nyvatex Health-Mat does not contain magnets, and Ledbetter goes out of his way to point out that EMF fields will have atmospheric electric fields involved, but the beneficial effect is greatest without magnetic fields.

As the former editor of Magnets Magazine (1980’s) and one who has interviewed and written extensively about magnets in healing and the various controversies encountered, I was especially curious about this part of Ledbetter’s claims.

John puts it this way: “The Nyvatex Health-Mat creates a technologically enhanced equivalent of the natural non-linear, earth atmospheric electrical field in which millions of years of human evolution have taken place. But since the Industrial Revolution of the 1900’s the human body has been substantially deprived of this absolutely essential evolutionary health environment. That, along with a life expectancy increase up from 42 to 74 years on average, accounts for much of the explosion of chronic degenerative diseases such as cancer, arthritis, etc.

“The natural non-linear electric fields of the human body and those of earth’s atmosphere quietly dominate all health and life. People are as unaware of these vital fields as fish are of the water in which they live. This non-linear field I imitated and enhanced in the Nyvatex Health-Mat. By using the Nyvatex Health-Mat the earth’s natural atmospheric electric field is concentrated and restored, allowing the body to return to a healthful state.”

Ledbetter not only has a ton of anecdotal tales, and his remarkable oil finding tool using the same phenomenon supporting the use of his Health-Mat, but he claims that the traditional methods of acupuncture, Feng Shui, Tai Chi, Reiki, copper bracelets, therapeutic touch, laying on of hands, Chi Gong, the “jewelry effect,” and even magnetic therapy, are all manifestations of these same non-linear electric fields.

The purpose of this letter is to stimulate interest on the part of various physicians. It’s easy to buy and resell, the Nyvatex Health-Mat. I have owned several of them (they have a two-year useful life) and can personally attest to more rapid healing of a broken lower leg bone; relief of chronic back pain and an end to reflux disease that baffled experts as Kaiser Permanente in the late 1970’s.

I hope my observations are not taken lightly – they should not be. I have invested many years investigating healing phenomena and have a track record of balanced reporting. For example, I visited the Philippines and wrote a the book Psychic Surgery in 1972; I have authored a layman’s book on Applied Kinesiology and am toying with an idea for probing the hypnotic factors of same, which I think others are overlooking.

I once followed Katherine Kuhlman around for six months (with permission) to document or denigrate her healing claims – four hits, 75 misses, but one of the hits was exceptionally impressive and unexplained). I began my health journalism with the Laetrile controversy in 1966 and have not stopped looking, listening and learning.

Finally this: some physicists are leaning back into either theory with quantum fields as an explanation for evidenced of etheric influences. In my opinion, this simple Nyvatex Health-Mat may hold the key to a breakthrough we have not even imagined yet.

Gentlemen:

I have been plagued with chronic back pain for over 30 years. I have been diagnosed by various M.D’s with disc degeneration to severe arthritis. I am often unable to stand upright, sit in a constant position for any length of time, and have intermittent feeling loss in my left let. I have been on a regime of large doses of aspirin for many years.

Dear John:

As I mentioned to you over the phone, I am delighted with my Nyvatex Health-Mat and am convinced that it has altered my calcium metabolism in a very short time. Here is the history:

While in undergraduate school I became very interested in nutrition. I was especially interested in the effects of vitamin C and took quite a lot of it. I figured that I’d need extra calcium in my system and with each gram of CC a day. After two years of taking supplements like this, I went to the dentist (for the first time in two years). Usually I’d have an average of two cavities a year. This time there were none.

Unfortunately for my teeth, I did not always continue on the Vitamin C and calcium routine. About five years ago I complained to a dentist that a tooth hurt whenever I ate sweets or acid. He didn’t want to fill it then. I found that if I took extra calcium, there would be no pain.

So I started taking two calcium lactate tablets per day in addition to a regular multiple vitamin. Then about three years ago I started to go into menopause and found that I needed six calcium lactate per day. I really began to find out more about calcium metabolism thanks to that tooth. I now considered it to be an instant laboratory test, and held off getting it fixed.

As far as calcium, I found the following: Drinking lots of caffeine made the tooth worse. Calcium absorption seemed improved if the calcium were downed with an acid drink as grapefruit juice or apple juice. 500 to 1000 mg vitamin C taken at the same time with water had the same effect as an acid juice. Boron markedly decreased the amount of calcium necessary. Natural progesterone cream did the same thing, but boron plus progesterone cream did not further reduce the amount of calcium needed. Calcium (with magnesium) citrate was much more absorbable. In each case, I would have severe pain in the tooth upon eating a sweet or acid, or even breathing in cold air if I did not take calcium consistently. Skipping calcium one day every few weeks was okay, but if I missed two, I would begin to feel discomfort. Three days without caused severe pain.

Now we get to the Health-Mat. I originally used it sporadically to see if I would notice a difference. I liked the way it felt, but otherwise little result. On November 18, I started using it consistently. I also took my vitamins and calcium consistently until the 26^th of November. Since then I have taken one calcium citrate with magnesium and one multi-vitamin plus minerals tablet. The calcium I took after getting a hint of the former pain one evening. After five years of taking calcium out of necessity, the difference is astounding. All this in only three and a half weeks of steady usage.

Upon reading the above, I am struck by how strange it is to say, “lying on a Health-Mat each night has changed my calcium metabolism.” How odd that must sound to someone who has not experienced it for himself or herself or seen what it has done for others. What’s odder still is that it changed something that I know of no other way to change, and how quickly.

My presbyopia, alas, has not improved. When I get brave I will gorge myself on pizza and other gluten-rich foods to see whether the gluten intolerance has changed. Will let you know in detail the results.

Dear Mr. Ledbetter:

I wish to convey to you some very interesting findings in terms of the use of Nyvatex Health-Mat and burns.

Over the Fourth of July weekend I was barbecuing and had a very hot barbecue grill that was supplied by gas jets. I reached under the grill to turn down the gas jet and misjudged the distance and caught the back of my hand on the undersurface of the barbecue grill and sustained an immediate severe burn. The burn area over the web space and dorsal aspect of my hand between the index finger and the thumb became red and throbbingly painful immediately. I went in the house and applied some ice and also applied some butter over the wound.

About four or five minutes after the burn I recalled your experiences and Mr. Lorenz’s experiences with burns, whereby you applied the Nyvatex Health-Mat and obtained relief.

I went down to the basement and placed the Nyvatex Health-Mat over the burned area and held it in place over the burn for approximately two minutes.

The experience was very interesting. For the first 30 to 45 seconds it felt as though the sensation of pain and throbbing and burning over the involved area increased by about 50 percent. After approximately 45 seconds there was a rapid cessation of any of the pain or discomfort and I no longer experienced any pain or discomfort from that point onward. Over the next 10 minutes or so the redness of the burned area subsided and by the next morning there was really no trace of any discoloration or painful sensation about the burned area. Approximately 24 hours later there was a very small blister in the very superficial layers of the skin but there was no fluid accumulation in the blister.

In all other respects you can say that after the first minute of application of the Nyvatex Health-Mat to the burned area the symptoms, and apparently the adverse tissue reactions and tissue damage, seemed to promptly be reversed and no significant tissue damage or symptoms were experienced after the application of the Nyvatex Health-Mat.

This experience makes me feel very strongly that the Nyvatex Health-Mat should be tried in the Shriners Burn units on a clinical research basis to determine the advantages that could be derived from the use of the Nyvatex Health-Mat for patients with severe burns.

Just a quick note to tell you about another pleasant experience with the Nyvatex Health-Mat.

A good friend of mine told me about sleep problems he has had for sometime. He has since been diagnosed as having sleep apnea (I think that is the way it is spelled) which causes someone to stop breathing in their sleep. This means they get very little rest and typically he would get up in the morning tired rather than rested. I told him about the Nyvatex Health-Mat and volunteered to let him borrow it to see if it would help. After sleeping on the Health-Mat one night he saw a significant improvement. After two more nights he brought my Health-Mat back and ordered one of his own. He is very happy with the results and now plans to order one for his wife who has arthritis.

I am getting better. Here is basically an explanation of what happened to me and how much better I am feeling on the Nyvatex Health-Mat. This is from a diary I have kept of my problem.

Around June, 1998, I started having problems walking. I am 45 years old and had been a member of Bally’s Health Club about 4 years. I was working on the weight machine about 3 times a week, 1 to 1-1/2 hours each time. I have an average physique but was feeling much younger and was actually in better shape that I had been in a long time. In 1997, every Sunday afternoon I was speed walking (3-1/2 to 4 M.P.H.) from 8 to 15 miles.

Last year around June, 1998, I started having a tremendous stiffness develop in my knees. I thought it was some form of arthritis and started taking tremendous amount of Glucosamine. This helped but not much. I started having tremendous convulsion of my knees. I started shaking so much I couldn’t walk.

My leg would literally lift itself up and start shaking like a “fresh-caught shark” on a deep-sea fishing trip. When I went to bed at night I couldn’t lay down flat because my knees would arch and convulse violently. I had to take 5 to 10 minutes to allow them to settle down. Then I would wake up 4 to 5 times a night with cramps that would make you want to cry. They wouldn’t go away.

I hadn’t been to the hospital in 25 years. I was in good health. This went on for another 6 months. By then I was holding onto walls and whatever to walk. I had no coordination. I would shake violently every time I would try to walk.

My knees were starting to bend like a cowboy’s and my right knee (the worst) was starting to deform itself to the left. I can stand up in the morning, after pulling myself up on a chair or desk after crawling like a snake and my knee is 1" to the left of where it should be. I couldn’t stand up straight. I have a very “tough” time climbing stairs. I had and still have many symptoms, too many to list.

I finally had to go on a walker and quit working out in February of this year. I presently don’t have health insurance but will in the next 2 months or so.

I went to the Veterans Administration Hospital in Atlanta. They ran a series of M.R.I.’s and other tests. I just had the last M.R.I. on my brain about 2 months ago. The doctors at the Atlanta V.A. are from Emory University and considered to be some of the finest in America. I saw a series of neurologists who told me I had disk problems. I went to an independent neurologist for a second opinion. He was considered to be very good. He studied the V.A.’s M.R.I. and said he was certain I had Lumbar and another disk problem that was causing my nerves to go crazy. I went back to the V.A. and have had two other doctors tell me I have disk problems.

Then I saw the most experienced back surgeon from Emory University Hospital (35 years experience) and he and another team of highly skilled surgeons and doctors came to the experienced determination that I didn’t have disk and spine problems. After studying the M.R.I.’s for another month, they were absolutely sure.

Then I started seeing another neurologist who gave me extensive blood tests for a spinal virus. What I have seems to be a disease. They normally check for H.I.V. and other viruses. No virus was detectable. Now they don’t know what I have! They are trying to find out and maybe they will or won’t. They apologized to me and told me they usually find out what it is and they will sooner or later.

They think my immune-system is fighting itself, but aren’t sure.

I have some type of crazy disease that is also causing me to run around using the bathroom all the time. I go to bed at night and have to get up and use it 4 or 5 times. This is contrary in theory to the Nyvatex Health-Mat founder which I have heard the guy on Radio Free American 3 or 4 times but I used L.G.S. Trust high-powered leg tube magnets to stop a lot of my convulsing knee problems and it instantly stabilized my legs and allowed me to start walking again on a walker without shaking so much.

I bought a Nyvatex Health-Mat about 2 months ago and I started feeling the effects almost immediately, but it really “kicked in” in about a week and a half. I can feel the electric effect going into every nerve in my spine and rejuvenating the nerves to my kneecaps where I have the worst problems.

Supposedly my problem is the small section of the spinal cord, at the bottom of the spinal cord, where the nerves come out and connect to the legs. I am still on a walker but I am just about to the point I can walk without it, but my muscles have to get strength again and I have to build up the coordination.

With the combination of these alternative therapies, I am healing a problem that supposedly can’t be healed.

I’m not kidding, about 2-1/2 months ago I couldn’t walk 5 feet on a walker without shaking so much I could hardly move. I would sweat so much I couldn’t even go 50 feet without drenching myself in sweat inside of an air-conditioned building. I felt and still somewhat feel like I have the flu, with the symptoms of feeling rundown and very similar body symptoms like the flu.

I was 2 days from going into a wheelchair but I have been turning this around.

Nothing the V.A. could do for me would help and all they did was give me a prescription for a muscle relaxer by the name of Baclofen which gave maybe 25% relief at the most but wouldn’t allow me to heal.

The Nyvatex Health-Mat has made me strong to the point I can walk without the walker some but I still have to touch a wall. I have gone through a 50% to 60% healing but it will take longer. I don’t know how much longer but I should be coming around well in 2 to 6 months.

I had no other hope. I believe what I had might have been terminal (in the sense of paralysis) if I hadn’t used alternative therapy. I was in bad shape.

The symptoms were very similar to the latest edition of “Here’s To Your Health” where the article about Malathion poisoning told about the body’s immune system building up the agent to fight the Malathion and that was the problem, not the Malathion. It is a shame to waste almost 5 years of working out with a fairly decent body to having your body go to waste but this is just the way it is.

Tom,

Thanks again for reintroducing me to the Nyvatex Health-Mat. I have and am having great results. It is really working! I started using it about October 10, 1999, and I am getting to the point of just about walking again without a walker. I have to exercise a lot to rebuild coordination. From what I could gather from the Nyvatex Health-Mat book it will take me at least 6 to 12 months to actually be noticeably healed and from what I am experiencing, this is correct.

Just as the book said, my body has and is purging itself of waste. The purging process is slowing down. I haven’t used muscle relaxers in 3 months, as I told you before, and don’t need them.

I am still weak in the knees but this has vastly improved. I have to build up my knee strength through vigorous exercise, but the Nyvatex Health-Mat is working a miracle! No joke!

It took me about 2 months before I could lay on it more than 30 minutes to 1 hour without it hurting. Now I can lay on the Health-Mat 3 or 4 hours or longer. But like the guy (I can’t ever remember his name) the geologist and physicist said, “The pain is a sure sign of healing.” It’s true. It’s like pouring alcohol on an open sore.

I am getting used to the Health-Mat and like the inventor said it takes time for your body to get used to the stimulating electrical impulses. I feel like I am healing one nerve at a time. It really feels great when your body gets use to it. I didn’t have any noticeable pain in my back until I started using the Nyvatex Health-Mat. The lower section of my spinal cord and approximately 4" on both sides of the area burned with an astringent-type pain in exactly this area immediately after I started using the Health-Mat just like the book said. This has been a sure indicator the Emory University doctors were correct in their evaluation of me probably having a spinal infection or disease caused by my Immuno-System fighting itself.

From what I have read on the Internet and other places what I have is similar to Polio but weird and unknown Immuno disorders, which you are fully aware of, are a tremendously growing and probably more numerous problem today that ever before. I am coming “back to life” and I may not have permanent damage. I think my spinal nerves are infected and swollen but this is enough to stop a normal person from walking.

Tom, I have no intention of stopping my information service to you. I will continue to update you of my healing and I will send The Nyvatex Health-Mat Corporation the documented and notarized truth about my continuing healing.

Dear John & Pat:

When I invested in the Nyvatex Health-Mat Oil Corporation more than ten years ago, I never could have dreamed then that the ADEPT system would have such a personal impact on my entire family's life!

I found out about the “Nyvatex Health-Mat” while listening to a tape of one of John's interviews on the Tom Valentine radio show.

After one year of doing this, she had a physical by her regular physician here in Virginia. He took another set of x-rays and after examining her thoroughly, said she was in good health. He never even mentioned osteoarthritis or osteoporosis. My mother feels fine now, takes regular walks, and at the age of 79 is “fit as a fiddle”!

I first noticed that I wasn't having as much trouble driving at night. For years I avoided going out at night due to double vision and the rings of light that I would see around objects. For some unexplained reason, the rings and double vision disappeared. At first I didn't realize that the Nyvatex Health-Mat was responsible for my improvement because it was a gradual process.

Glaucoma requires that I get checked every three months to make sure that the drops are keeping my eye pressure down so as not to damage the optical nerve. For some reason, I missed one of my eye appointments, although I always faithfully took my drops. I decided that since my vision seemed better, I needed to get checked for new glasses as well as my overdue check up for Glaucoma.

Well, I no longer take drops and so far, so good! Now it has been more that two years and I have been examined by two doctors who both say I don't have Glaucoma.

P.S. I just keep referring the H. Health-Mat to everyone that tells me they have any sort of ailment. My next door neighbor just received her H. Health-Mat and she is thrilled! She has heart trouble and arthritis. I gave her a strip style Health-Mat which she wrapped around her arm that was giving her pain.
